Bits, Spurs, & Bosals - The Big Misunderstanding

at the Jackson Fork | Deadshot Ranch
Bondurant, Wyoming - July 31, Aug 1-2 2026

Join Bill Oliver for a three-day in-person clinic featuring his signature class, The Big Misunderstanding. This in-depth course explores the history, use, and application of the Spur. Are the right spurs on your boots?

You'll also delve into the Bosal Hackamore, learning about its purpose, various sizes, uses, and how to pair reins with each bosal level. "This is the bridge over the river from the snaffle to a finished bit." ~ Bill Oliver

Many misconceptions exist regarding the bars of a horse's mouth and what can be harmful to them. Bill will discuss the best materials for bits, share his insights on the progression from snaffle to finished bridle, and explain the two-rein system He will also provide exercises to help your horse respond effectively to your body and cues.... and learn what it takes to ride your horse bridle less!

Come ride, learn, and recharge in the breathtaking Wyoming wilderness. Spots are limited!  To register for the class, there are several options to attend. You can do the full retreat package, or come for a day to watch as an auditor.  If you want further information or a tailored package, please don't hesitate to call or email us.
